Around Hejnice

Length: 8,2 km Dificulty: medium Circle: YES, Marking: marked The trip starts by the church in Hejnice from there it follows the green touristic trail by the car road to the nearby Ferdinandov. In its higher part the trip turns left from the forest and climbs up the Štolopich car road to the valley of Velký Štolopich. There is a yellow sign to follow trough the gully which leads to the Štolopich reserve. The trip continues trough a rocky and steep terrain to the bridge and it leads by the right bank to the view point of the waterfall of Velký Štolpich. From there it follows the red sign to Ořešník and then to the rocky massif itself where there is a viewing point as well. After that it leads back to Hejnice by the red touristic trail.		See the map

The stream overcomes a 30m high wall and creates a several waterfalls and cascades.   Ořešník – view point – Ořešník is a rocky outcrop of a side part of the Jizera Mountains. It rises steeply to the height of 800m above the valley of Velký Štolopich and Smědá. Until 1999 Ořešník used to be a part of the nature reserve of Štolopich, today it’s a part of a different natural reserve Jizerskohorské Bučiny (Jizera Mountain’s Beech Forests). The cross on the tops has been standing since 1813, when it was raised by Franciscans.
