Several minutes walk from Haus Stein Elbogen you can see the Loket Castle built in the 12th century. The town Loket is located only 10 minutes away by car from the spa town Carlsbad (Karlovy Vary).

Right below Loket Castle on the Ohře riverbank a number of cultural experiences are awaiting you this summer. You can choose from a variety of classical and modern music concerts. The peculiar atmosphere of open-air music and other performances can be enjoyed in the Loket Amphitheater. Cyclists and hikers may choose from a dense network of hiking and biking paths. Perhaps the best known route runs along the Ohře riverbank from Loket to Karlovy Vary. If you decide to follow this path, you will soon find yourself in front of the Svatošské Rocks. This stretch of the Ohře river is considered the most beautiful one by both mountaineers, and peddlers and canoeists who have a field day here. Gusts staying in the Stein Elbogen House can use this site as a central point to set out for: hiking trips that offer wonderful views anywhere between the Ohře river, the Svatošske Rocks and Karlovy Vary; cycling trips on a variety of cycling paths (ranging from short one through 20km flatland ones to 50-60km long rides in the protected landscape area of Slavkovský Forest). Every year important national and international championships take place here. This year the local track will host the umpteenth World Motocross Championship of MX1 and MX2 classes.
